my grandfather Antonio Marrazza came across from Settefrati late 1800's
early 1900's. He arrived in Scarborough where he met my Grandmother Alice
Grey later coming to Hull where he married her at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church, Spring Street, Hull. They had five children Philomena, Joseph,
Mary, Ann and Peter (my father) all of whom are now deceased. I know many
Italians came from Settefrati and I wondered if anyone had heard the name
before or could give me information on where to perhaps look records up
for my grandfather.(ie birth records, ship passenger lists). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: lesley Hi my name is lesley and i have been trying to gather infomation from family about my great great grandad joseph rea who came to england from italy and married i have been told that he came from a famous icecream family and was told that if he married the girl he met that they would never talk to him again. he married and they had 11 children 10 girls and 1 boy. Thanks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Michael Tansella Dear Tony, I am emailing you in the hope that you can help me locate information relating to my mother's side of the family. Her Grand-father Celeste Coniola lived in Ancoat's little Italy and you actually have a picture of him on your website (on the Ice Cream Families page). We know Celeste's father was called Dominic, but are not sure of his mother's name. We don't know where they are from either. We believe Celeste came over to the UK in April 1883 from Pontari Genova, but we have not been able to locate any other information than this. My parents have been to Pontari but have not been able to trace any records for Celeste or any of his family. Do you have any information on the Coniola family or could you please point me in the right direction to find out more information. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Rebecca Knox Looking for info on Charles/Carlos Lavagnini/Lavanini b.aprox 1869 Italy.
