Does anyone have any links with a DellaRocca family in Salford athe beginning of the 1800s? In 1803 my 4xg.grandfather, Michael James DellaRocca of Salford, married Sarah Beesley in St. Mary's Manchester (later the Cathedral). I have no earlier information about Michael's family and would love to trace my Italian roots. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks Carol

Hi My grandfather was born at 33 Jersey street Ancoats in 1912. His parents had to return to Italy as Nonna was unwell. Their names were Mario domenico and Cinzia Avo but we can find no other AVo's other than our immdediate known post war family . On Grandads birth cert it is spelt Avi I am wandering if it is a derivative of Schiavo/i. Do you know anyone who may be able to help?

Dear Mr. Rea,

Please add my family name of Guerrieria to your list of Ancoats families. I am trying to trace my family back to Italy. My Grandfather's name was Antonio Guerrieria.

I know that they were in Dougall Street in Hulme from 1920 onwards.
In 1915 I know that he was in John Street ( wherever that was ).
I know that he was in 1 Back Holdens Strand Ancoats in 1911 and that he sold ice cream.
I know that he was in 3 Parr Street in Macclesfield in 1907.
From there the trail goes cold as he is not in the 1901 census.
I have found out that he was born in Italy in 1875/1877 in Naples ( so my relatives did tell me ) and that his father was called Megell Guerrieria.
Can you give me any tips or advice as to how to continue my research.
Thanks and kindest regards,
Mike Guerrieria.

Hi Tony
Do you by chance have a Giuseppe Rea in your family tree. Giuseppe married Anna Ciarella in Ramsgate, Kent in 1895. Wedding certificate indicates Giuseppe's fathers name was Antonio. The 1911 Census shows that Giuseppe was born in Arpino, Italy.
